Pupil Premium
Every school receives two levels of Premum funding from the Government – Pupil Premium and Sport Premium.
The Pupil Premium is additional funding to help schools close the attainment gap between children from low-income and other disadvantaged families and their peers. Each school receives funding based on the number of Free School Meals (FSM) pupils, Looked After Children and children of Service families.
The Sport Premium is additional funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of. Each school receives funding based on the number of pupils and a designated lump sum.
Each school must monitor their use of the funding and report annually to parents and Governors; they report on the previous academic year and current academic year.
